WEEK 1 Assignment Number 4

Week 1 

                                                    ISTE Standards 

We as teachers have to prepare our students for the digital era, as we all are living in this new digital era and I feel we as educators should now leave behind the traditional approaches in the classroom and enhance the new literacy skills to teach our students. 

         After reviewing the standards for ISTE these standards are composed of five subsets of standards and clearly help the teachers and students to move forward in a direction of digital learning and teaching. These standards are very handy for all types of educators and all around the world these standards are applicable in the classroom.  ISTE standards are supporting teacher to implement technology and encourage it in their classrooms. These standards allow teachers to take role in advancing student learning through discovery of technological academic practices. Teachers get to encourage students to use technology responsibly, and work in collaboration in order to facilitate learning.                 In my opinion, these standards are fair and does provide a major and positive impact on the teachers to be able to prepare themselves to different types of learners. It allows the teachers to modify and re-evaluate their effective pedagogical practices. 

         These standards allow students to seek knowledge with the help of technology and students are expected to understand the essential technology concepts and make use of technological tools to build on their knowledge and achieve their learning goals. These standards also allow students to use technology in a responsible and ethical way and get engage in collaborative work to problem solve. I feel these standards are providing a more authentic and productive framework to our students in order to prepare them for a more realistic world.
